01 / Overview
Make the possibilities understandable.
West Carib Solar is a concept project exploring how a renewable-energy website can help people understand solar and battery options before starting a conversation.
The designed experience connects discovery, residential and commercial service paths, project examples and consultation entry points. It is an interactive demonstration by Southern Haze Creative, not a paid client engagement.
02 / The challenge
Clarity before commitment.
Solar decisions combine unfamiliar equipment, household or business needs, electricity costs and questions about backup power. A list of technical specifications does not necessarily help someone decide what to ask next.
The design challenge was to make those choices approachable without presenting an indicative calculation as a quote or a promise of savings.
03 / The approach
One system. Distinct service paths.
A dark navy visual system with electric yellow accents gives the experience a clear hierarchy. Coastal imagery grounds the subject in its island context, while dedicated residential and commercial pages make the service paths easy to distinguish.
Battery-resilience storytelling explains the relationship between panels, an inverter, storage and critical loads. Service-area content and a project gallery add context before the visitor reaches a consultation entry point.
04 / Key experience
Explore an estimate, then ask better questions.
The interactive savings calculator combines island rate presets with adjustable monthly bill and system-size inputs. Its results change with those choices, making the relationship between energy use and system size visible.
The estimates are clearly indicative. Equipment, roof conditions, shading and local circumstances still require a project-specific assessment; the figures shown in the demo are not measured Southern Haze outcomes.

A demonstrable discovery journey.
The result is a designed, browsable experience that moves from explaining the options to exploring an estimate and finding a consultation path.
It demonstrates interaction design and information clarity, not installation performance, commercial results or a working back-office integration.
